My First Post (avoiding silence) - A View East

This is a view outside my kitchen window looking East from Queen Anne hill in Seattle, WA. The furthest horizon is the Cascade Mountains and a little closer in is Highway I-5. You can't see either of those in this picture. It's a sunrise in late January 2005.

It's fitting that I get to be the first commenter here. And a nice task too, because I happen to partiuclarly value views like this. What one sees out of one's window - literally or figuratively - is a great revealer about a person in several ways. Glad to get to know you, sir.

Yes I'm glad and proud that you are the first commenter. But shhh don't tell anyone but the picture above is really not from my kitchen window - it is taken from outside the house about 10 feet South of the window. The window itself has not only a diffusing screen but additional foliage that spoils a photograph. I don't know if that changes your view of me, I'd think you need a window into me in order to reveal me.

Hi there. Looking forward to seeing more of your photos.

There's a few of you on my friends' list from up there in the "top left" part of the US map. Although I've never been to the States, my sister spent a year in Redmond when she was sixteen so I feel a small connection with the area. One of the friends she made out there lives in Olympia and she's just started posting the odd photograph to [info]north_star_

As I said in my Bio ... photo posting will be sparse. I have a lot of images that I have taken in the past which I will post. I'm my own worst critic (aren't we all) and I'm not taking as many photos as I'd like now.

What is that movie? 6 degrees of seperation? On my part, I have been to Oxford(a memorable weekend) but never made it to Cambridge. But I have been to Redmond even by bicycle and also to Olympia which is a sweet enough place for a state (Washington) government town.

Hi! I saw your page on <lj user="ruralrob>'s journal where you very kindly mention my journal and now I find you on my 'friend of' list. I am pleased to meet you and I look forward to looking East from Queen Anne hill again. :)
