Here me am

<td>These pictures are part of a "Me" series taken in 2004 and 2005 by myself ... I'm the best always available model for my pictures <grin>. The shots are facilitated by my "Antique2000" Nikon 990 which has a swivel base and is my bicycle (shopper-commuter or road-touring) traveling camera. The close-up on the left is taken with a Nikon D70, the other three are taken with a Nikon 990 on a bicycle shopping trip to the top of Queen Anne Hill in Seattle. The house on the right is one of my most favorite houses in Seattle. I will one day get a picture of it that I really like. My best picture of the house is here. Click on any of the above pictures for a bigger (1024x768) view. </td>

I can't wait to get a bike again (and the nice weather to ride it in).

Good luck on getting a bike. Weather? Spring is a cumming in. Seattle is pretty mild all year long (and particulary in this year's drought condition). I used to commute (about 5 miles) from home to downtown Seattle (which was downhill) and then back up to my house all year. Great excercise and beats either driving or taking a bus. But Rome is not Seattle for bicycling and in Seattle I had to
dress for rain and ride in the dark
(short days in winter). It also helps if you don't need to dress for business and can keep your
bicycle in your office. (Bicycles get stolen here also.)

I love cyclying to/from work. I used to do exactly what you did: cycling 10k downhill to uni, then back and shower when I came home. It beat every other transport indeed! And I have never been that fit.

But that was years ago in Switzerland. In flat Cambridge the distances were shorter and it's rather flat but lovely to cycle around. In Rome it's impossible, Italian drivers are too dangerous and the air is unbearable. Even with a pollution mask.

The day I am staying in a nice place again, I'll do it again. Hopefully my next workplace will have a shower.

I like your gear. I am not as well equipped (yet?).
